CR-3D Fast printable FaceShield 2nd Gen >German Standard< Landscape Format

large_preview_German_Face_Shield_neu_neu

Please read this discription befor start printing!

This is a clear development to our first version of the face shield (thing 4240579) which we set as the standard for Germany! The development was also carried out in collaboration with the german red cross and is also accepted.

what has changed to the first version:

  1. The A4 foil is mounted in landscape format
  2. You can use a 4-hole punch to punch the holes
  3. massive material was saved. It was additv designed with only the most necessary material
  4. The temples along the forehead have been shortened in order to be able to place more pieces on a pressure plate
  5. At least a DIN A4 foil with 0.3mm was used as the film thickness.
  6. On the inside of the forehead support we use a foam tape to further improve comfort

what materials did we use:

For example, we use the following sheets:

The following was used as a rubber band on the backside:

and we use this foam (Please note that the manufacturer can only deliver to commercial customers or for larger orders):

We print all the shields on our own 3D-Printers (CR-3D Type C1) with an Build Volume of 320x250x350mm

We clearly recommend PETG as filament, but PLA can also be used if no other is available.

Licence and selling of face shields (same regulation as PRUSA -> Source PRUSA):

We share these files under non-commercial licence. It would be great if you donated these shields to those in need for free. If you need to cover your production costs, we are ok with you selling the shields for production cost. However, we do not want to see these shields on eBay for 50€.

Thank you -Maggo- for your support and help with the design!

Important:

The design was based on that of PRUSA, but I completely redesigned and designed it and, in my opinion, incorporated a few updates. I didn’t have the initial idea for such a face shield, Josef PRUSA had it, but I changed it by a few points.

For one thing, I completely closed the gap between the shield and the head with a base plate.

I have optimized the file regarding printing time. I removed all senseless openings and I reduced the height and was able to reduce the printing time significantly

If you want to manufacture shields for others PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY

Act as if you were infected by the COVID-19 virus.

Wear a face mask and a fresh pair of gloves when collecting each batch of printed parts. Store the parts immediately in a sealable bag.

Talk with whoever you’re making the shields for, let them know about your manufacturing environment

There is still debate about how long the virus survives on plastic, but most sources mention 2-3 days. That means that by letting the packed face shields sit for 2-3 days before distributing them, you’ll greatly reduce risk of transmission

Do not store the entire stock in one place, minimize the risk of cross contamination
