Fantasy map for roleplay (gurps) – April 9, 2020 at 12:20PM

This is my first attempt at cartography, I was asked to draw a map by my GM. I drew this map before I found this cool website, so I know that there are many mistakes – I’ll consider it for the future. Please don’t be too strict on me)

I used mostly Paint Tool Sai 2, and for post-processing – Photoshop (contrast, compass, color gamut correction, etc.). And graphics tablet, of course.

I painted everything by hand, except for the names and hills (for last I used special brushes in Photoshop)

There are 24 states and a bunch of political and climatic conditions for their existence

Elves are marked in green, dwarves – black, orcs – two small red states. Specific races are marked in purple: an analog of tieflings in the west, ratlings to the center and Cthulhu-shaped guys in the east.

All other states, including the big red in the center, are people.

I had a lot of illogical but strict requirements from the customer, such as:

– two lonely mountains in the middle of the plains, but the master needs this for the plot

– the transition from the jungle to the desert in the south is too abrupt – the master wants a lot of small states, but so that there are sharp rocks, and the jungle, and plains, and marshes, and elves (round wood).

– At the same time, the desert is terra incognito, a dead zone for the game, so I didn’t clog the space and increase the size of the continent, although it would be worth it

– the eastern mountain range rigidly divides the continent. Logically, there the plate should go apart. but let’s just imagine that the more southern part of the plate just went deep, so there is increased humidity, swamps and the jungle =)

– The climate on the central peninsulas is too harsh, theoretically it should be softer. But the master asked for the climate of the savannah. I did not extend the central peninsula further south, because again the clogging of non-game space + аccording to the plot, there are states with the most favorable trading position. And if they sit in the far south, with whom will they trade so actively?

– Yes, the font is ugly. Probably later I will try to write by hand.

– Well, yes, I ****ed up with a couple of rivers too.

Now some people are asking me to draw something like this to order, and I’m embarrassed. Do I have a right to it and how much could it cost? I hadn’t painted anything to order before. ❓
