Curling Trophy

large_preview_Plate.png

I designed this for some keen curling people (apparently its called ‘new age curling’!), they wanted a mini trophy to pass around their curling buddies.

It has been designed so that the only thing requiring supports while printing is the handle, the rest shouldn’t need them.

I have separated the ‘feet’ from the main body to improve the print quality, they will need gluing to the main body after. The other bits that need gluing is the handle and ball retainers.

The plate (that has the ‘2020 winners’ writing on it) is designed so that it can be replaced with the new year of play or a new design entirely; the old plate can then be kept by that years winner. For this reason, I wouldn’t super glue the plate on, perhaps a temporary glue dot would be better.

Even though I have included 3D printable balls, I bought (for very cheap on ebay) some 14mm ball bearings, they look so much better.

The model even slides around!
