Cougar QBX Mods

large_preview_Case_feet.png

These are all the 3D parts I designed and printed out for my cougar QBX case.

The GPU can get pretty hot in this case due to the poorly designed feet. So I Made my own. They are 20mm tall and allow proper air to come in through the side as well and not just the back, greatly improving airflow to the gpu. I Designed them to fit the design aesthetics of the cougar QBX and I believe they look great. I personally printed out 4 case feet for my case instead of printing out 2 case feet and 2 front case feet. I personally find the case looks better. Just in case though I included my design for the front case feet if anyone likes those better. Use whichever you like best. To install just use the screws that come with your case.

You will need to drill two holes in your case. Like the feet up so the’re perfectly in line withe the plastic front cover.

Taking out the oem feet means you now have no dust filter. I have therefore designed new bottom air filters. They are in parts due to my printer’s printing dimensions limitations. I used a clamp to push the magnets (5mmx3mm in size) in the holes. You cannot do it otherwise. It is a very snug fit ensuring they stay in place. You can use any filter medium of your choice. I used a gnat screen since it was what I had at hand. I then used epoxy to glue the filter medium on with the “filter top” on top of it. Basically making a sandwich.

If you’re using a noctua NH-U9S cpu cooler you’re in luck. I designed a vent that goes from the back of the case to the cpu fan. The back of the case acts as an intake which means the vent helps directing fresh air to the cpu cooler. I did heavy testing and this cut down cpu thermals by 6C. i have also included a filter to put on the back of the case.
