This is a slightly improved version of the mask that worked really well for me and the original design of it can be found here: https://longliveyoursmile.com/3d-printable-mask-for-covid-19/
This mask works very well if you add a SOFT rubber seal (or foam) around as shown in the picture. Super glue the weather seal in, do not trust self-adhesive side. the mask+weather seal will create a nearly perfect airtight seal around most faces.
In some rare scenarios, you can heat the mask with a hairdryer and slightly bend into the right shape.
Improvements added:
- Added additional mount option for use with wide elastic bands.
- Included optional adjustable buckles for use with wide and medium width bands
- Slightly expanded holes for mounting straps and elastic bands
- Chamfered edge on the front opening of the mask to remove a sharp edge, this prevents any chance of injury when pushing out the filter for replacement.
Print with no support (face down), 7% infill or more, the weight of the mask will be near 31gr. Print time about 3.5 to 4 hours depending on your printing speed.
You can scale the mask to smaller sizes
reduce by 5% for a medium size and 10% for small
I want to credit the wonderful work these guys did.
Special Thanks to Dusty Richardson, Colton Zaugg, Spencer Zaugg, as well as Billings Clinic and High Tech Filters, for the ideas, designs and implementation
Thank you for designing it and sharing it with everybody.
This is probably my last upload to Thingiverse, it went down the hill with the redesign of their website. The performance has not improved either. Moving to another community.
