I first 3D printed that Hemera Mount remix by nzzane, but as I am using a 4020 fan, the BLTouch wouldn’t fit. So I cut off the mount and designed a super simple 3D printed bracket for the sensor. I wasn’t really happy with the result as it did shrink the print in the X Axis by about 50mm! Also using the bottom gantry bolt as it is, with the nut on the backside caused collisions with the plates of the X gantry.
I have decided to make my own redesign and added the BLTouch behind the fan (has the blue “pin saver” in the photo), allowed the nut to be in the front, instead of in the back, so no collisions anymore. To hide the BLtouch I had to thicken it a bit, but the cutouts removed quite a lot of weight This allowed me not to lose any printing space on my printer.
Tip: Remove the square nuts from the Hemera when you are not using them. They cause the clicking sound when you have a Z-hop (it usually happens with the retraction, so it’s hard to tell what is the reason of that sound).
