A simple 3D design for making face shields. It allows clear plastic to be attached to a ball cap to make a face shield to use as PPE “Personal protective equipment”, comfortable and cheap to make. It works best with around .007 to .009 mil plastic that cuts and bends. I think the cheap plastic used for poster frames might work. 3 clips and a rubber band for a friction/tension fit. OR… use some button elastic to wrap around the back of your head/cap. Designed to lay flat for printing with no supports, I used 80 percent fill.
I think it has these advantages over other designs: minimal material printed, can be made with pla, ball caps are going to fit better and are widely available. Cheap and fast.
Measure your caps brim… but a 15″ wide by 10″ tall rectangle works well. Add a strip of duck tape around the bottom of the shield to Make it more comfortable.
I cut the holes for the clips starting about half inch down, make three cuts and bend the tab inwards… it will help stabilize the clip.
Not approved by the FDA or anyone else. Its to use when no other suitable options is available. Free to share, change or remix. Please don’t sell face shields with this design. Make shields to help others. Thanks
