So I guess Etsy went full shithead a few weeks ago.

Not sure what exactly changed, but I noticed that a few weeks ago some woodcrafters I followed on Etsy suddenly had a bunch of their listings pulled, followed by Etsy staff sending them a warning about banned content. Stuff like clubs, or AK handguards, or spent shells/casings were part of what was removed.

So I decided to take a look at whatever Etsy’s currently policy is on this shit, and hoo boy get a load of this malarkey:

  1. Firearms

Etsy prohibits the sale of the following:

  • Guns and firearms
  • Gun and firearm parts
  • Parts or accessories for assault-style weapons like AK-47s or AR-15s
  • Cannons
  • Live and blank ammunition, including casings, shells, hulls
  • Silencers and suppressors
  • Speedloaders
  • Directions for 3D printing firearms

Yep, the ol’ dreaded “salt weapon”, the same dumbfuck ignorance as usual. And it’s all kinds of plenty vague too, which surely won’t be used to punish dissidents…

Oh, but it doesn’t stop there. Get a load of this:

However, some accessories for guns may be sold as long as they are either not affixed to the gun, or are purely cosmetic or decorative in nature. Some examples include:

  • Cases and racks
  • Holsters
  • Scopes
  • Stocks

Fuck you Etsy. You’re a bunch of dipshits.

Go support Irontree Craftworks and Confluence Woodcraft on Instagram, 90% of their inventory (their most popular items) were nuked because of this.
