A display stand for RealAbsurdity’s Snap-Fit Saturn V rocket. My design is inspired by the Saturn’s launch pad, but is by no means an accurate model of it.
Features
- No support needed
- Compact and fits the Saturn V
- Grips the rocket in place to significantly reduces the odds of tipping over.
- Thin railings should print fine for 0.4mm nozzle as long as your printer is dialed in for bridging.
Multicolour Printing
It is possible to print the stand in colour like in the render by doing a filament change at about 11mm height (use your slicer’s tools to get a more precise measurement if needed).
In S3D, this can be accomplished by adding the following to the “Additional terminal commands” box of the scripts tab in FFF. This of course also works in Cura or other slicers.
{REPLACE “; layer” “M117 Layer”}
{REPLACE ” Z = ” ” Z=”}
{REPLACE “\nM117 Layer 110, Z=” “\nG1 X10 Y10 Z80 E-150\nM84 S0\nM84 E\nM300 S1000 P3000\nM0\nM104 S200\nG92 E0\nM117 Layer 110, Z=”}
*** Use Layer 110 in the third line if you are printing at 0.1mm, Layer 55 for 0.2mm, etc.
