I’m a huge fan of the Casio CA53W calculator watch (perhaps best known for being Marty’s watch in Back to the Future), but the only problem is that the strap always breaks after a few months of my wearing it. So I modeled my own replacement strap to print as needed.
It fits the CA53W perfectly, and it should also work with any number of other watches that use the same pin size. It is inspired by the original straps on the CA53W, but it is not an exact copy, being optimized for 3D printing and having slightly thicker buckle parts for durability.
You will need to reuse the original pins (mandrels) to attach the straps to the watch. To assemble the buckle on the strap, use a plain-old sewing pin with a diameter of 0.75 mm and a small head. Push it all the way through, and then snip off the excess from the point end. In my experience so far, it holds in place just fine by pressure alone.
In the comparison pictures above, a CA53W with the original band is shown on the right next to my 3D printed band on the left.
