Made this piece as part of replacing the old limbs on my Raanu. Would work quite well as forearms or calves, in theory.
A few things to mention:
- I haven’t test printed this – please attempt to use it at the risk of the ball sockets exploding (when inserting a ball joint into the sockets) and hurting your eyes. While my previous attempts at ball sockets didn’t explode due to bootleg ball joints (thanks, China) I would still advise you to wear eye protection.
- The ball sockets might have extreme amount of friction making this piece unpractical at best. I increased the diameter to 10.50mm (which can result in loose socket, if you are an advanced 3D printer user and have everything setup to print with accuracy of a micron) to help with that.
- Big doubt on the axle holes not being too tight, let alone work.
- The pinhole should in theory work. The part might be wide enough to fit two of the pins from both sides, but big doubt on that too.
- If you had noticed, this piece might be a complete disaster or a godsent piece for all of Bionicle’s 3D printing community.
Hopefully this won’t be a waste of plastic for whoever prints this, and they share their success with me. I will make couple more pieces for Raanu soonTM, once I get more time for modelling.
