I created a simple solution to a big problem; my 15 month old son would get into the pantry and start “playing” with everything he could get his hand on.
So with a little design time with Shapr3D on my iPad Pro I ended up with this… a sliding bi-fold door lock. The design is v2 technically since my first had a thinner upper design (went from 3mm to 5mm).
It’s made of two pieces: upper and handle. I didn’t have to glue the handle into the upper piece (yet) since the pegs are pretty tight. The supports for the holes was cleaned up a bit with an exacto knife. A dot of super glue would be sufficient i’m sure.
It fits a door with thickness up to 40mm.
I did use a bit of thin, dense foam on the front edge to not scratch the door and smooth the sliding a bit too.
Hopefully this “thing” works for your needs.
Sliced in CURA.
