Customiseable RC-plane wheel

large_preview_IMG_20200112_124322.jpg

This RC-plane wheel is completely 3D printed. Ihe tire itself is printed with flexible filament.

The 55mm (diameter) version is the one I tested. The others should work too, but are not tested. If you need other sizes, you can customise it using FreeCAD. You don’t need experience with this software, the important values can be changed in a table. Instructions and customiseable file(.fcstd) are available for download.

Check out my video about it: https://youtu.be/KZZxaWwEWYY

Printing settings:

“Tire” and “Spacer”:

-Print with flexible filament

-100% infill

-Support everywhere

“Rim-top” and “Rim-bottom”:

-“normal” fillament (ABS/ PLA/… )

-Print settings doesn’t matter

The Infill inside the tire can be pretti difficult to remove, so make sure the distances to the object is enough.

Assembly is pretty easy:

Insert the spacer in the gap inside of the tire, then add the other parts from the top and the bottom and press them together. Assembly should be possible without the use of glue.
