If this is not the only Eagle Prime model on the internet, let me know if it appears before or after I post this (2019-12-27)! I’ll be interested to see what people do with this. Figurines and other merch may have helped the business, but sadly MegaBots, Inc. (see [MegaBots, Inc. on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com › user › megabotsinc) and megabots.com) went bankrupt.
This is a rough model with some attention to 3D printing (such as having the chassis touching the ground; but not in the blend file), but it prints very large and there are still some parts that are difficult to print properly. I made this by using photos as backgrounds and looking up additional photos and videos. The proportions, size, and details are only accurate within 6 inches or so, and some parts are missing or reinterpreted. If you are looking to make some sort of working device, this only serves as a starting point, but may be the only version available online as of the time I am posting it. There are 68 parts in version 1.0, not including parts mirrored on the other side. MegaBots Inc. actually created Eagle Prime, a 12-ton, 16″ tall giant fighting robot. They sold it on eBay along with the CAD files, so you can’t obtain the mech nor the CAD files anymore, but you can 3D print this 1/60 scale figurine at approximate size, standing 83.1729 mm tall (should be 81.28 at 1/60 scale, since 16 feet = 4876.8 mm, and 4876.8/60 = 81.28 mm).
To export from the blend file, you must use Blender 2.8 (I used 2.81). You must select everything in the “printed” collection only, then in the export dialog, you must select “Selection Only.”
- Crash warning for Blender 2.81: It is generally guaranteed to crash Blender (at least 2.81) if you try to export everything in the scene as an STL, but objects in the other collection(s) are required as parts of booleans and other operations unless you apply all modifiers and convert all curves to meshes. Therefore, follow the instructions above.
The blend file has several objects that are not solid. The only ones I am sure are not solid are the path objects.
