Happy Friday, June 7. President Donald Trump is due back from the UK — and knowing him, he’ll have a lot he wants to talk about. Here’s more on that and the other stories we’re following.
Three Things We’re Watching Today
Trump headed home
After a trip to Europe for the D-Day commemoration, during which he denied that several negative news stories ever happened, President Trump heads back to the U.S. today. We’ll be watching for any angry tweets and impromptu press conferences.
Flynn’s lawyer swap
Michael Flynn has replaced his legal team after his attorney’s sentencing memo casting doubt on his guilty plea did not seem to sit well with the judge. It’s not clear exactly what legal strategy Flynn will employ going forward, and we’re hoping to get a better sense once we identify who Flynn has hired to replace his ousted legal team.
Details emerge from Democrats’ impeachment fight
In new details emerging from the Democrats’ meeting this week, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) is crafting his impeachment pitch around two points: centralizing the investigations, and easing the process procedurally. So far, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Intel Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) have not bitten.
