New project to more than double oil output in Iran’s Ilam –
Tasnim – The launch of a major oil project in Iran’s western province of Ilam is expected to raise the crude output at Danan oilfield from 8,000 to 19,000 barrels per day, an official announced.
Speaking to Tasnim, governor of the city of Dehloran said a project on development of Danan oilfield in the province of Ilam will increase the oil output from 8,000 bpd to 19,000 bpd and will also entail an operation to design and carry out acidizing process in two of the 11 oil wells at the field.
He said the major project also includes seismology activities in an area of 230 square kilometers, installation of a desalter with the daily capacity of processing 10,000 barrels of oil, and construction of an oil pipeline that stretches 55 kilometers.
In comments in April, Governor of Ilam Qassem Soleimani Dashtaki said two oil and gas projects, dubbed ‘Dana’ and ‘Danan’, will kick off with an investment of 18 trillion rials (about $135mln).
Financed by the National Development Fund, the development project is carried out by a seismology and geophysics company for the exploration of oil and gas in the Bijar canyon during a 3-year period, the governor had announced, saying it would pave the way for the construction of the second phase of Ilam Gas Refinery.
The province of Ilam, which borders Iraq, has several oil and gas fields, including Cheshme Khosh oil field in Dehloran.
Based on studies, there are 23 joint hydrocarbon fields between Iran and Iraq which are divided into exploration, development and production categories
