I am trying to generate a .stl file of a terrain with a 3D trail map imported from a gpx file to print using my 3D printer. I have seen this tutorial https://www.instructables.com/Make-a-3d-Print-of-Your-Hike-From-a-GPS-Track/ that generated small grooves on terrain using gpx coordinates, which I think is a perfect start. The pictures of the end product in the tutorial is exactly what I am trying to create. Unfortunately, the tools described in the tutorial are old versions, they have been combined and replaced by a blender-osm plugin, which is a little different. Also, newer versions of blender are different from the version used in the tutorial, so it’s not very easy to follow.
Has anyone seen a similar tutorial using more updated tools? Or maybe someone is aware of a different plugin to do something similar? I am new to blender, but fairly experienced with 3D printing, looking forward to creating the model.
Appreciate everyone’s help here.
