Did You Know Jurgen Voller is Based on a Real Historical Figure – Indiana Jones Explained Fast –

Did you know the latest Indiana Jones villain, Jurgen Voller, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is based on a real life historical figure? Voller worked in the space program to help America win the race to the moon against Russia, and he mentions having worked on the V1 rocket from World War Two. So he is basically a stand in for Werner Von Braun, who developed the V two rocket for the Nazi Party. When World War Two ended, he was brought into the American space program to help win the space race as part of Operation Paperclip. If you’ve never seen it there is a great, albeit also fictionalized portrayal of Von Braun in the excellent series For All Mankind, where he is very publicly condemned for his ambivalent attitude towards his work with the Nazis.
