The entire set-up for Star Wars: The Force Awakens revolves around the Resistance and First Order racing to find Luke Skywalker. Only a single map of his location existed, and in the end, it needed R2-D2 to provide the remaining piece of the puzzle for Rey to visit him on the planet Ahch-To. However, for the rest of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Luke seems adamant he wants to remain in isolation. That makes one wonder why the map existed in the first place.
