Hey everybody,
I’m trying to work with ffxiv models and getting them to be printable, but I’m running into issues with transparency. For instance, hair in the game naturally has transparency in its materials, but you can’t really translate materials into a 3d print file, so I was wondering if there was a way to sort of use the opacity map as a punch of sorts to cut the transparent sections off the mesh. In some cases I’ve been able to do it with a bit of funkiness with displace modifiers and booleans, but it doesn’t seem to work with hair. I could always default to the knife tool, but I’m not a huge fan of it (mainly because I’m not good at it) so if there are other options I’d be happy to hear them.
Thanks!!
